Old Train Station (1872) building of the Connecticut River Railroad is located in Easthampton, Massachusetts. The railroad located along the Connecticut River in western Massachusetts, formed in 1845. Its main line was from Springfield to East Northfield, Massachusetts. It built several branches such as Easthampton and over the years acquired additional lines in Vermont. The railroad was acquired by the Boston and Maine Railroad in 1893. The station has served various functions since the Easthampton rail line was abandoned in 1984. Currently the station building is a bagel shop located next to the old rail-bed that has been converted into the Manhan Rail Trail. Railroad Hobby Show held at The Eastern States Exposition fair grounds is considered the largest show of its kind in North America. The event features real life railroads and scale model railroads, historical societies, travel agencies, art shows, flea market dealers, importers, manufacturers and photographers. Modelers' exhibits display outstanding handiwork on layouts ranging from the tiny Z scale which fits on a coffee table, a monster 80 foot N-Trak system, to the Amherst Railway Society's (show's host) own Amherst Belt Lines Modular layout that boasts 8+ scales miles of track.
