Mesa Verde National Park is an American national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Montezuma County, Colorado. The park protects some of the best-preserved Ancestral Puebloan archaeological sites in the United States. Established by Congress and President Theodore Roosevelt in 1906, the park occupies 52,485 acres near the Four Corners region of the American Southwest. With more than 5,000 sites, including 600 cliff dwellings, it is the largest archaeological preserve in the United States. Mesa Verde (Spanish for "green table") is best known for structures such as Cliff Palace, thought to be the largest cliff dwelling in North America.-Wikipedia
Goulding's Lodge, formerly known as Goulding's Trading Post, is a lodge, trading post, and museum located just north of the Arizona-Utah border, adjacent to the Navajo Tribal Park in Monument Valley. Harry Goulding introduced director John Ford to Monument Valley where he shot several of his classic westerns. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Movie director John Ford to use Monument Valley as location from 1939 to 1964 to make a total of seven movies. Outside the museum against the rising rocks, the 'Captain Nathan Brittles' Cabin' is located just behind the museum; for the movie 'She Wore a Yellow Ribbon' that was filmed here in in Monument Valley in 1949. Originally, this building was Mrs. Goulding's potato cellar, the shed structure was used for exterior shots of the personal quarters for the Cavalry Post's commanding officer Captain Nathan Brittles, played by John Wayne.-Wikipedia
