The North Church of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is a historic Congregational church located in Market Square. In 1854, the current church building was erected by Towle & Foster of Boston. Sited directly across from the Portsmouth Athenæum, it features an Italianate edifice and a steeple visible from most of the city, the Piscataqua River, and communities on its western bank in Maine. Its spire has been referred to as Portsmouth's "landmark of record". Old Train Station (1872) building of the Connecticut River Railroad is located in Easthampton, Massachusetts. The railroad located along the Connecticut River in western Massachusetts, formed in 1845. Its main line was from Springfield to East Northfield, Massachusetts. It built several branches such as Easthampton and over the years acquired additional lines in Vermont. The railroad was acquired by the Boston and Maine Railroad in 1893. The station has served various functions since the Easthampton rail line was abandoned in 1984.
